Case study 1.6 - A changing climate and
the need to improve water use efficiency has driven an innovative collaboration
of minds in the Western Port region of Victoria. Searching for sustainable
and profitable on-farm solutions to the climate change and emissions
challenge, the project is turning heads for all the right reasons. Anne
and Bob Davie are beef farmers from Phillip Island and have been enthusiastically
involved and are now one of the leading businesses in the program.

Case study 1.7 - Despite uncertainties
in how climate change and emissions trading will impact on agriculture,
some small-scale farmers are taking positive, practical action to reduce
their greenhouse emissions and adapt their farming to a changing climate.
Lifestyle farmers Ian and Marion Hill were awarded the 2008 Lake Wellington
Landcare Network Individual and Sustainable Farming Awards for their
leading farming practices.
(2) Latest Development Brunei - Enviromeat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Govt of Bruneii to co-operate in supplying Enviromeat to the Brunei Halal Export Brand.
Enviromeat sent a few representatives to the International Halal Product Expo & Conference
held at the Brunei International Conference Centre.
The Brunei Premium Halal Brand aims to establish a world brand that speaks about values, that consumers can identify with, that is authentic and ethical. It aims to become one of the major players of the Halal brand globally, both in terms of Halal Food production and certification, with the sheer aim of catering for Halal food including other Halal products of Premium quality for Muslim populations worldwide.
